Yep, an Italian company has found a way to manipulate and shape a stone that’s coveted by the Romans among us.
They call the material stone foil. No, it’s nothing like the foils or wraps we know. It’s actually a slab of natural marble or granite that they cut so thin—it’s only 0.3 millimeters thick—that it becomes malleable with their innovative technique. The helmet is available in 15 types of granite.
Grein Italia created a series of motorcycle helmets as examples of how they can cover complex 3D surfaces, something that has been impossible to do with marble until now.
